Fitness Equipment Completes Community Hub

Two years of hard work and persistence from Barton Parish Council has finally got the community recreation area they have been looking for, with the installation of an Outdoor Gym the final piece to the jigsaw.

The Recreation Ground Play Area refurbishment project began in February 2013 and, following consultation events, Streetscape were delighted to be chosen as the preferred supplier and had a great working relationship with the Parish Council throughout the process.

The first phase was to replace existing items of play equipment with new and exciting items. These included the DDA Friendly SS24-BN Sturdy Basket Swing, R4294 Spyder Multiplay Unit, SS24-4 Sturdy Four Seat Swing plus the exciting R4715 Bubble Stand In See Saw.

Then, at the beginning of 2015, Phase Two saw the installation of further items of play as well as the Outdoor Fitness Area which included 4 items of fitness equipment: SD120s Air Walker, SD905 Leg Stretcher & Air Skier and two items of DDA Friendly Equipment, the SDD122s Tai Chi Spinners and the SDD306s Leg & Arm Strengthener.

Clerk to the Council, Kate Proudfoot, was delighted with the completed scheme, saying:

“On behalf of the Parish Council I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the superb service Streetscape has provided and the professional job of updating our play area. The residents have had nothing but praise for the scheme and the equipment is being used by all the generations in the village.”

Residents now have access to a complete new Play Area, an area for Outdoor Fitness, plus new shelters and a Football Goal End.
